PILLOW STYLING TIPS

Soft layers. Effortless charm. Endless possibilities.
The right pillows can completely transform a space — adding warmth, colour, and personality.
Whether you’re styling a bed, sofa, or reading nook, these tips will help you create a cozy, balanced, and visually pleasing arrangement.

Play with Size & Shape

Mixing different pillow sizes adds depth and visual interest to your space.

Standard sizes we love:

  • 50 × 50 cm (classic square)

  • 45 × 45 cm (slightly smaller, easy to mix)

  • 30 × 50 cm (lumbar / rectangular)

Styling tip: Layer large pillows at the back and smaller shapes in front for a balanced, inviting look.

Mix Textures

Texture brings instant warmth and dimension — even with a neutral color palette.

Try combining:

  • Linen, cotton, or washed velvet

  • Woven details or subtle embroidery

  • Smooth vs. nubby or tactile fabrics

Use texture to balance softness and structure throughout your room.

Use a Cohesive Colour Palette

Choose 2 to 3 complementary colors to repeat across your pillows and surrounding décor.

Tonal ideas:

  • Warm & earthy

  • Soft & muted

  • Bold & contrasting

Add one accent cushion for a pop of colour or a seasonal touch.

Keep It Asymmetrical — But Balanced

On a sofa: Try three pillows on one side, two on the other — a classic designer trick.

On a bed: Layer two larger pillows at the back, a pair of medium ones in front, and finish with a small lumbar cushion.

Asymmetry feels natural, relaxed, and visually pleasing.

Switch with the Seasons

Refresh your space without redecorating:

Spring/Summer: Light fabrics, soft neutrals, pastels

Autumn/Winter: Richer hues, plush textures, deeper layering

 Bonus Tip: Use Quality Inserts
For a full, high-end look, use down or down-alternative inserts slightly larger than your covers.

Example: Use a 55 × 55 cm (~22 × 22 in) insert for a 50 × 50 cm (~20 × 20 in) pillow cover.
